The Power of Purpose

Our life finds its meaning in Christ. When our purpose and work are connected to Christ, we have a reason for living that is not about us, our “pile,” or our needs. We fit into His plans. The Lord is not impressed with our grand plans and abilities. He is looking for our availability and our commitment to a Kingdom focus. C.S. Lewis said, “Our Lord finds our desires, not too strong, but too weak. We are half- hearted creatures, fooling about with drink and sex and ambition when infinite joy is offered us. Like an ignorant child who wants to go on making mud pies in a slum because he cannot imagine what is meant by the offer of a holiday at the sea. We are far too easily pleased.” Bruce Witt shares some principles about purpose, and gives us ways to define and live in it.
