My name is Rob Marbury, and I am a member of Iron Forums, North Gwinnett. As the father of four children, I can tell you that I have had MANY trials with my children. I have come to believe my middle son is actually the most like me, and as a result, we butted heads many times. As I tried to spend time with him, my mind kept saying things like, “Look at this room — what a mess!” or “He really needs to be doing his homework right now and not playing video games.” Well, God taught me to “be still.” I was about to get into a hefty discussion with my son as he had decided to move out. I had two pages of notes on what he should and shouldn’t do, and I was ready for it to get intense. But God’s Spirit literally told me “Throw your notes out. Trust me. Listen and Love. That’s all I want you to do right now.” Well, let me tell you, this has made ALL THE DIFFERENCE. I share this to encourage us all to obey God, and think about the time to debate and argue, vs. the time to Listen and Love.

Has anyone else had a similar experience, or outcome? If so, please share it below. And, if any of you reading this are going through a tough time with a child, feel free to reach out to me.
